Champurrado Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup of water
  • 1 pod star anise
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 whole clove
  • 3/4 cup pinole
  • 4 1/4 cups milk
  • 2 tablets Mexican chocolate
  • Brown sugar to taste or piloncillo.

Instructions 

  1. Boil water with star anise, clove, cinnamon stick. Remove from heat and leave the spices in the water to sieving.
  2. Take another saucepan and heat Pinole, milk, chocolate. Whisk until the chocolate is completely dissolved. Heat for 10 minutes more until the liquid mixture is thick. Remove from heat and add brown sugar or piloncillo. Pour the cinnamon water over the mixture and serve
